Nos han confirmado del Journal of Private Enterprise la aceptación de la publicación del artículo que hemos escrito en coautoría con Nicolás Cachanosky acerca de los efectos de la política fiscal en economías con recursos ociosos. Se trata de la revista científica de la Association of Private Enterprise Education (APEE), sociedad de economistas a cuyas reuniones anuales frecuentemente asistimos con Nicolas. Abstract:
While Garrison’s model has been mostly used to analyze, theoretically and empirically, business cycles, other potential venues have not been explored. The effects of fiscal policy is one of these applications. In this paper we show how Garrison’s model can be used to analyze the effects of fiscal policy in the presence of idle resources. This yields two important results. Particularly, our application of Garrison’s model shows that even if starting with idle resources fiscal policy manages to reach potential output, the result is imbalances in how resources are allocated in the structure of production of the economy.

Interesante tema Adrián y Nicolás. No he leído el paper pero tengo la curiosidad de saber si llegan a la conclusión de que basado en el modelo de Garrison, la política fiscal expansiva logra los mismos efectos que la política monetaria en generar el ciclo económico? O sólamente conlleva a mal asignación de recursos?
